Two things actually.

I once salvaged a set of obsidian armor because I needed storage space. But even that pales in comparison to what comes next.

After coming back from almost 2 years of not playing, I find that mini prices have skyrocketed thanks to the HoM calculator. In my rush to make a quick buck, I sold an undedicated celestial pig for 70k, not realizing it was worth over 10 times as much. To make matters worse, I find myself wanting one...but they are in very short supply, and so are my ectos.

so yeah...I do dumb things.

My biggest mistake throughout almost 3,600 hours in Guild Wars is insisting on having one of every profession (and a pre-Searing character).

Given the chance to start again, I should've stuck with three or so (Ranger, Ritualist and Dervish) to allow concentration of my efforts. Of course, I'd still want a pre-Searing character.

Hopefully, with the impending release of Guild Wars 2, I can do it right next time. Shame there's no playable Dervish profession in the initial release, as that's still my favourite.

Most of my other mistakes are simply inexperience, ignorance or general worrying (trying to do something fast so I forget a vital part of the process and fail). One memorable example is when I insisted on having every attribute equal the same number, regardless of whether I was using skills tied to that attribute. I was never able to finish Zen Daijun (first campaign for me was Factions, I had made a R/E) because of this and so I took a break lasting a few months.

Acccccccckkkkkk! When I used to play with a couple friends and we went through there I would always want to try and avoid killing stuff on those towers for that exact reason and always thought how it would suck to have something nice drop up there... My words always fell on deaf ears... luckily nothing like that ever dropped up there for us. lol

I didn't even care to try for survivor before. Earlier this month, when I started playing again, I was looking at the titles on my warrior and noticed I was about 500 XP away from getting Survivor (not the max title but the first part) but I had died.. I wasn't even trying for it and that ended up making me want to give it a go. So then I got the Survivor title but then did something stupid while trying for Indomidable Survivor. I was out in Ascalon farming the elementals in HM and decided to try a vampire sword out. Then I forgot I was using it and wanted to go to the washroom, so I put my character in a safe spot I had cleared. When I got back I noticed I was by the shrine and realized I had died and saw my health going down. I felt pretty stupid and was bummed out for a bit. lol. Still working on Indomitable.... and can't imagine being so close to Legendary and..... acccckkkk and I tend to doze off sometimes while playing.

I haven't done this in a long time but there's been a few times that I've been so used to using a running skill that I'll be in town and try to click on the skill... haha.

Deleted 2 characters while I was sleepy, woke up in the morning to find I had deleted the wrong ones, they were holding all my armour and weapons I had stored :/
...my bro sold a black dye to the merchant for 1g.....
...and someone a friend was running to Droks dropped 250 ecto on the floor to show off how rich he was... the split second they zoned

Last year I deleted a toon that was only three years old so I could make a LDoA for my Hall. He'd only been there to snag presents ever year... only afterward did I remember he'd been storing a few of my dedicated minis, including M.O.X.

Completed WOC & saved all the orders to get as many lock boxes as I could. Went to the trader & went to town exchanging for what I thought was the lock boxes. Come to find out I exchanged everything I had for Imperial Guard Reinforcement Orders....

When I first started playing, I tried to be nice to a guildie and get him his first set of armor in Ascalon. Purchased all the meterials, went to the armor crafter and got him everything he needed. Can we say "customized".
I learned my lesson, just give them the material and gold and let them buy thier own.

After taking 4 month break from the game I bought Faction about 1 month after it came out.

My first character got a mini hydra as a present at that point but I had newly created my ninja in factions and was ignorant to the trade market.

When I left the game, the greens from sorrows furnace were the bestest thing. So someone offered a trade (Green Shredder's Talons for my mini hydra).

I was like, oh yeah green daggers for my ninja this is the greatest.
A 30k mini(at the time) for 1k daggers. Man i felt stupid about that since I had about 10k gold back then from over spending on many other things.

That isn't the dumbest thing ive done and there are many more that I'm way to embarrassed about to even mention.

My guild mates and me did quite a few runs to Sorrow's Furnace but I never got Drago's Flatbow. I even tried with the henchies but to no avail. So I decided to buy one for 15k gold I think. Got me an one with damage +10%, in the meanwhile the bow when dropped was updated to +20%. A couple of days later another SF run and I get his bow. Next day I just tossed the +10% one. One or two weeks later an update changed the older version to +20%. :|

Probably -not- my dumbest, and most definitely there will be worse things to come that I do to hinder myself (lol).. but in my fervor to sell off an inventory of goodies the other morning so I could go get my shiny new elite lux armor:

I was advertising in trade WTS 3 Armor of Salvs 3k ea, along with my WTB Jadeite shards (# here), and each time I got a Jadeite shard, I redid my WTS/WTB msg, well, I somehow ended up changing that WTS to WTS 3 Armor of Salvs 3k all.. and even worse, I was so tired, that when I got an interested buyer (almost immediately, haha) and she asked me not once, but twice, was I really selling 3 AoS for 3k all, and saying I was both times, that's exactly what I sold them for :/

In retrospect.. I really should avoid selling things worth over 50g when I've had no sleep in 48hrs

I won a Long-Haired Yeti on the Mini Mania giveaway contest (month of October/ The False Dragon) and sold it for a whopping 200 plat, without checking to see if it was worth anything.

Grabbing the quest from Brother Tosai in Factions "Drink from the Corrupted Chalice" while en route to where I was actually going without finding out what the quest entailed, and then once reaching Nightfall, wondering why I was glowing green and constantly dying while my monks stood by oblivious to this fact and not healing me. Standing in Kamadan feeling completely helpless as I had no idea this was relative to the quest. Ah the good old days of being a noob
